Ursuline Fighting Irish (Youngstown, OH) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Highlands Bluebirds (Fort Thomas, KY), 53-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Ursuline upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Fighting Irish host Kennedy Catholic (Hermitage, PA) to play the Golden Eagles in a non-league bout on Monday, December 12. The Golden Eagles go into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Bluebirds play the Holy Cross Indians (Covington, KY) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 5. Highlands will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Indians go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 70-38 non-league loss to Campbell County (Alexandria, KY).
