New Mexico High School Basketball - Artesia nips Del Norte
January 13, 2018: Albuquerque, NM 87110 Artesia Bulldogs (Artesia, NM) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Del Norte Knights (Albuquerque, NM), 60-56 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Artesia upgrades its record to 11-5 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Carlsbad (Carlsbad, NM) to play the Cavemen in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Cavemen come into the bout with a record of 8-9. Carlsbad lost 55-48 in their recent league bout against Las Cruces (Las Cruces, NM)
Next up, the Knights play the Los Alamos Hilltoppers (Los Alamos, NM) in a 5A District 2 bout, on Wednesday, January 17. Del Norte will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Hilltoppers come into the bout with a 9-8 record after their 77-48 non-league loss to Lovington (Lovington, NM).
