The Ashe County Huskies thwarted the visiting Wilkes Central Eagles football team by a count of 49-20 in Friday's league outing.

With the win, Ashe County upgrades its record to 6-2 on the season. The Huskies travel to East Wilkes (Ronda, NC) to encounter the Cardinals in a Mountain Valley 1A/2A outing on Friday, October 19. The Cardinals go into the outing with a record of 6-2. East Wilkes lost 21-13 in their recent league outing against Alleghany (Sparta, NC)

With the loss, Wilkes Central moves to 3-5 on the season. The Eagles host Alleghany (Sparta, NC) to encounter the Trojans in a Mountain Valley 1A/2A outing on Friday, October 19. The Trojans go into the outing with a record of 4-4. Alleghany won 21-13 in their recent league outing against East Wilkes (Ronda, NC)
