North Carolina High School Basketball - Charlotte Christian topped by Providence Day
January 14, 2014: Charlotte, NC 28270 The Providence Day Chargers basketball team scored 49 points and restricted the host Charlotte Christian Knights to 40 in the Chargers league victory on Tuesday.
The Chargers now sport a 16-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cannon for a NCISAA Charlotte Independent Schools contest on Friday, January 17. Providence Day will battle a Cougars team coming off a 54-22 league win over Charlotte Country Day (Charlotte, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 8-4.
The Knights (9-5) will now prepare for their contest against Covenant Day (Matthews, NC). The Lions come into the non-league contest with a 8-10 record. In their last contest, Covenant Day was defeated by SouthLake Christian Academy (Huntersville, NC), 47-41, in a league contest.
