California High School Basketball - North holds off Golden Valley

January 7, 2012: Bakersfield, CA 93307

North Stars (Bakersfield, CA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the host Golden Valley Bulldogs (Bakersfield, CA), 45-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, North upgrades its record to 5-11 on the season. The Stars host Centennial (Bakersfield, CA) to play the Golden Hawks in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 12. The Golden Hawks go into the bout with a record of 2-12. Centennial lost 80-20 in their recent non-league bout against Bullard (Fresno, CA)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Liberty Patriots (Bakersfield, CA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Golden Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 4-10 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 13-4 record after their 69-59 non-league loss to Garces (Bakersfield, CA).
