North Carolina High School Basketball - Alleghany thwarts Elkin

The Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC) basketball knocked off the visiting Elkin Elks (Elkin, NC), 60-51 in Thursday's league test.

The Trojans (18-1) will now prepare for their test against Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC). The Eagles go into the Mountain Valley 1A/2A test with a 11-8 record.

The Elks now own a 0-19 record. They play next when they host North Wilkes for a Mountain Valley 1A/2A test on Tuesday, January 31. Elkin will encounter a Vikings squad coming off a 79-55 league win over Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 13-7.
