Charlotte Catholic Cougars (Charlotte, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 12-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Caldwell for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 17. Charlotte Catholic will face a Spartans squad coming off a 11-5 non-league win over Mooresville (Mooresville, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 22-1.

With the loss, McDowell falls to 12-11 on the campaign.
