Pearland Oilers (Pearland, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the host South Houston Trojans (South Houston, TX), 51-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pearland upgrades its record to 12-10 on the season. The Oilers travel to Clear Lake (Houston, TX) to encounter the Falcons in a 5A Region III District 24 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 17-4. Clear Lake lost 66-64 in their recent non-league bout against A&M Consolidated (College Station, TX)

Next up, the Trojans encounter the Kingwood Park Panthers (Kingwood, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 30. South Houston will attempt to improve on its 11-12 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 13-8 record after their 57-55 non-league win over Del Valle (Del Valle, TX).
