Game Summary
This game was a five inning game after going 11 innings in the first game.
We were satisfied with the game one victory and never put up much of a fight in this contest - very disappointing! All three runs the Cass City Red Hawks scored were unearned. This was a terrible effort from top to bottom, no focus, no energy or passion. Players that were playing at a high level last season are no where near that level this season and it is very disappointing. We will remain inconsistent though until our mental approach changes - something for us to continue working on.
The amount of time put into the game to work on skills in the 2012-2013 season logbook surpasses the amount put in the 2013-2014 by a longshot. Apparently, it is okay to put a lot of time into basketball during the offseason, but not into softball. As a coach, former player and competitor, I will never be able to understand this.
