Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the South Aiken Thoroughbreds (Aiken, SC) and the host Aiken Fighting Green Hornets (Aiken, SC), saw South Aiken's basketball squad hold off Aiken by a tally of 46-43.

With the victory, South Aiken improves its record to 10-4 on the campaign. The Thoroughbreds host Brookland-Cayce (Cayce, SC) to play the Bearcats in a AAAA Region V challenge on Friday, January 11. The Bearcats come into the challenge with a record of 4-8. Brookland-Cayce lost 87-35 in their recent league challenge against North Augusta (North Augusta, SC)

Next up, the Fighting Green Hornets play the Midland Valley Mustangs (Graniteville, SC) in a AAAA Region V challenge, on Friday, January 11. Aiken will attempt to improve on its 1-11 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 3-3 record after their 45-32 league loss to Airport (West Columbia, SC).
