Game Summary
To close out the regular season Splitter Nation traveled to Detroit Martin Luther King High School. The two schools had met during the football season where MLK had won. The tables would be turned on this day. The Railsplitters run-ruled MLK 10-0.
Jaylyn Bullock and Miles Carter combined for a 1 hit shutout of the Crusaders. Each pitcher walked two and struck out three. Bullock and Carter were in complete command the entire game and the Crusaders had little hope of ever scoring.
Offensively, it was the bottom third of the Splitter order that did the damage. Carson Kern and Cade Rickman each had multi-hit days and each had an RBI. Cortland Montgomery chimed in with a hit and RBI of his own. Bullock had a triple and scored 2 runs to help his cause. Kyjuan Rice, Dylan Thompson, and Carter Atkins each had steals.
It was a dominating performance by Lincoln.
After the game, the Crusaders hosted both teams parents, players, and coaches for a cookout of rib tips, fried fish, and pizza.
