Virginia High School Baseball - Eastern Montgomery loses to Auburn
April 16, 2013: Riner, VA 24149 The Auburn Eagles baseball team scored 10 runs and limited the visiting Eastern Montgomery Mustangs to 0 in the Eagles league victory on Tuesday.
The Eagles (8-0) will now prepare for their match against James River (Buchanan, VA). The Knights go into the non-league match with a 1-4 record.
The Mustangs (1-3) will now prepare for their match against McCluer (Buena Vista, VA). The Fighting Blues go into the non-league match with a 1-1 record.
Game Summary
Erik Gaynor pitched a 3-hit shutout, leading Auburn to a 10-0 win over Eastern Montgomery. Gaynor did not walk a batter and struck out 6 Mustangs. Gaynor has not allowed a run in 13 innings to open the season.
Gabe Spencer and Jacob Walker each went 2-2 to lead Auburn offensively. Spencer scored 2 runs and drove in 3, with a double and 3 steals. Walker doubled twice, scored twice and drove in a run.
