California High School Baseball - West Ranch loses to Crespi
March 14, 2009: Encino, CA 91316 The Crespi Celts crushed the visiting West Ranch Wildcats baseball team by a count of 7-1 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Celts now possess a 5-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Chaminade for a Mission bout on Tuesday, March 17. Crespi will face a Eagles team coming off a 7-5 non-league win over Calabasas (Calabasas, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 4-1.
Next, the Wildcats face the Hart Indians (Newhall, CA) in a Foothill bout, on Friday, March 20. West Ranch will attempt to move on its 4-1 season record.

West Ranch lost the Easton Championship game at Birmingham High School. The Cats finished second in the field of 28 teams.
The Wildcats got a solid pitching performance from Trevor Fredrickson who went 4 2/3 innings striking out 6 Crespi batters. Trevor allowed only 2 earned runs and they came from a ground rule double called a homerun in error. Nico Rusconi and Allen Sarkissian both pitched well in relief. On offense, West Ranch only scored in the top of the first. Cody Howard hit a ground ball to score Jake Bernards who had reached base via a leadoff double. Other hits came from Nico Rusconi who had a double, while Allen Sarkissian, Cal Vogelsang, and Jared Ortiz each had singles.
