California High School Softball - Gunn bounces Cupertino
April 11, 2012: Cupertino, CA 95014 The Gunn Titans routed the host Cupertino Pioneers softball squad by a final score of 12-0 in Wednesday's league battle.
The Titans (5-7) will now prepare for their battle against St. Francis (Mountain View, CA). The Lancers go into the non-league battle with a 12-5 record.
The Pioneers now possess a 5-10 record. They play next when they travel to Piedmont Hills for a non-league battle on Monday, April 16. Cupertino will meet a Pirates squad coming off a 6-2 league loss to Live Oak (Morgan Hill, CA). The Pirates record now stands at 7-7.
Game Summary
The Titans dominated the Pioneers in their fifth league game, 12-0. The game played on Tuesday was a continuation of the game started on 3/27, which was suspended due to rain with the Titans having a 3-0 lead after two innings. Gunn scored early in the first, when Klausner got on base with a hit, stole second, and was driven home on a hit by Claire Collins. The Titans scored 2 more runs in the second, and 8 runs in the 3rd on 4 hits, including doubles from Nat Oda, Collins, and Carly Fisher. Junior pitcher Claire Klausner
