Michigan High School Basketball - Meridian nips Freeland
March 3, 2009: Freeland, MI 48623 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Meridian Mustangs (Sanford, MI) and the host Freeland Falcons (Freeland, MI), saw Meridian's basketball squad hold off Freeland by a score of 60-59.
With the victory, Meridian improves its record to 16-1 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Roscommon (Roscommon, MI) to battle the Bucks in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 5. The Bucks come into the challenge with a record of 17-2. Roscommon won 53-39 in their recent non-league challenge against Pinconning (Pinconning, MI)
Next up, the Falcons battle the Shepherd Bluejays (Shepherd, MI) in a Tri-Valley - Central challenge, on Thursday, March 5. Freeland will attempt to improve on its 10-8 season record. The Bluejays come into the challenge with a 13-2 record after their 62-31 league win over Ovid-Elsie (Elsie, MI).
