North Carolina High School Basketball - St. Stephens nudges Alexander Central

January 26, 2018: Hickory, NC 28601

St. Stephens Indians (Hickory, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), 58-54 in a league bout.

With the win, St. Stephens upgrades its record to 11-7 on the season. The Indians travel to Watauga (Boone, NC) to clash with the Pioneers in a Northwestern 3A/4A bout on Saturday, January 27. The Pioneers go into the bout with a record of 14-2. Watauga won 48-32 in their recent league bout against McDowell (Marion, NC)

Next up, the Cougars clash with the McDowell Titans (Marion, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Alexander Central will attempt to upgrade on its 3-15 season record. The Titans go into the bout with a 12-8 record after their 48-32 league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC).
