Coming up next, the Eagles play the Inola Longhorns (Inola, OK) in a 3A District 4 battle, on Friday, September 28. Sequoyah will attempt to advance on its 0-4 season record. The Longhorns enter the battle with a 2-2 record after their 26-6 league loss to Berryhill (Tulsa, OK).
First Quarter
This is a wet and chilly game. It is 76 degrees and have chances for some serious rainfall throughout the game.
Locust Grove took their first two possessions in for touchdowns.
Second Quarter
Story line in this quarter is that LG's starting defense gave up their first points of the season. Another headline is the referees are letting their presence be known. Seems as if they have some laundry they need to air out tonight. Neither team can go two plays in a row without a penalty, or so it seems.
Third Quarter
This is pathetic how the referees are calling this game. They call questionable calls, yet miss obvious penalties in front of their faces. Neither team can get any rhythm going due to this. Very sad to watch.
Fourth Quarter
This should have been a better contest by both teams. It is horrible when the officials control the game like they did. Seemed like any time a team had a huge play it was brought back because of a penalty.
Penalties for the game:
LG 17 for 155 yards*
CS 11 for 86 yards*
*This doesn't account for the BIG yardage plays that were wiped out.
