Illinois High School Basketball - Elgin can't hold off Guilford
February 13, 2018: Rockford, IL 61114 The Guilford Vikings basketball team scored 51 points and held the visiting Elgin Maroons to 50 in the Vikings non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Vikings now sport a 9-15 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Harlem for a Northern Illinois 10 contest on Friday, February 16. Guilford will battle a Huskies team coming off a 79-65 league loss to Jefferson (Rockford, IL). The Huskies record now stands at 8-18.
The Maroons (10-16) will now prepare for their contest against Geneva (Geneva, IL). The Vikings enter the Upstate Eight - River contest with a 16-10 record. In their last contest, Geneva was nudged by St. Charles North (St. Charles, IL), 61-51, in a league contest.
