New Mexico High School Basketball - Clovis nips Sandia
February 14, 2017: Clovis, NM 88101 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Clovis Wildcats (Clovis, NM) and the visiting Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM), saw Clovis's basketball squad hold off Sandia by a tally of 44-43.
With the victory, Clovis improves its record to 11-14 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to La Cueva (Albuquerque, NM) to play the Bears in a 6A District 2 challenge on Saturday, February 18. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 11-12. La Cueva won 61-59 in their recent league challenge against Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM)
Next up, the Matadors play the Manzano Monarchs (Albuquerque, NM) in a 6A District 2 challenge, on Saturday, February 18. Sandia will attempt to improve on its 9-14 season record. The Monarchs come into the challenge with a 2-21 record after their 54-45 league loss to Santa Fe (Santa Fe, NM).
