California High School Basketball - Lick-Wilmerding winner over Crystal Springs Uplands
December 17, 2009: Hillsborough, CA 94010 The Lick-Wilmerding Tigers (San Francisco, CA) basketball knocked off the host Crystal Springs Uplands Gryphons (Hillsborough, CA), 45-28 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Tigers (2-1) will now prepare for their test against St. Joseph Notre Dame (Alameda, CA). The Pilots go into the non-league test with a 7-0 record. In their last test, St. Joseph Notre Dame topped Emery (Emeryville, CA), 72-30, in a non-league test.
The Gryphons now own a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to St. Lawrence for a non-league contest on Friday, December 18. Crystal Springs Uplands will confront a Celtics team coming off a 55-14 non-league loss to Redwood Christian (San Lorenzo, CA). The Celtics record now stands at 0-3.
First Quarter
Lick executed vs. CSUS man defense hitting big shots off the double screen when CSUS centers refused to step out.
Second Quarter
CSUS made adjustments and played tough in the 2nd quarter running the floor and getting to the basket but lick kept attacking and kept their lead intact going into half time.
Third Quarter
Lick controlled the quarter making adjustments and scoring on some timely back doors and hitting the offensive boards.
Fourth Quarter
Playing with Pride CSUS knocked down almost every shot on there way to a 17-4 quarter to close out the game and go into tomorrow's game with confidence.
