The Ansonia Chargers basketball team scored 45 points and held the visiting Derby Red Raiders to 32 in the Chargers league triumph on Tuesday.

The Chargers now sport a 12-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wolcott for a Naugatuck Valley - Brass contest on Wednesday, February 6. Ansonia will battle a Eagles team coming off a 34-26 league loss to St. Paul Catholic (Bristol, CT). The Eagles record now stands at 10-8.

With the defeat, Derby moves to 2-16 on the year. The Red raiders host Woodland Regional (Beacon Falls, CT) to face the Hawks in a Naugatuck Valley - Brass match on Friday, February 8. The Hawks enter the match with a record of 9-10. Woodland Regional won 45-35 in their recent league match against Seymour (Seymour, CT)
