The Mars Fightin' Planets basketball team scored 84 points and held the host Valley Vikings to 54 in the Fightin' Planets league triumph on Tuesday.

The Fightin' Planets now sport a 17-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Freeport for a WPIAL AAA 1 contest on Friday, January 23. Mars will battle a Yellowjackets team coming off a 56-51 non-league win over Ford City (Ford City, PA). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 11-7.

The Vikings (7-8) will now prepare for their bout against Knoch (Saxonburg, PA). The Knights go into the WPIAL AAA 1 bout with a 8-7 record. In their last bout, Knoch was crushed by Highlands (Natrona Heights, PA), 57-44, in a league bout.
