North Carolina High School Basketball - Patton knocked off by South Caldwell
January 24, 2017: Hudson, NC 28638 The South Caldwell Spartans basketball team scored 36 points and held the visiting Patton Panthers to 25 in the Spartans league triumph on Tuesday.
The Spartans now sport a 14-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hickory for a Northwestern 3A/4A contest on Friday, January 27. South Caldwell will battle a Red Tornadoes team coming off a 56-44 league loss to Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Red Tornadoes record now stands at 14-3.
The Panthers (2-17) will now prepare for their contest against St. Stephens (Hickory, NC). The Indians enter the Northwestern 3A/4A contest with a 10-9 record. In their last contest, St. Stephens ran past Foard (Newton, NC), 58-41, in a league contest.
