September 11, 2009: Eureka, IL In Friday's league game, the Prairie Central Hawks (Fairbury, IL) football team smashed the host Eureka/Roanoke-Benson Hornets (Eureka, IL), by a final score of 61-12.
The Hawks (2-1) will now prepare for their game against Mahomet-Seymour (Mahomet, IL). The Bulldogs come into the Corn Belt game with a 1-2 record. In their last game, Mahomet-Seymour overwhelmed Rantoul (Rantoul, IL), 42-8, in a league contest.
Coming up next, the Hornets play the Olympia Spartans (Stanford, IL) in a Corn Belt contest, on Friday, September 18. Eureka/Roanoke-Benson will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Spartans go into the contest with a 1-2 record after their 35-0 league win over University (Normal, IL).
