January 23, 2012: Newton, NJ 07860 The Newton Braves basketball team scored 58 points and held the visiting Boonton Bombers to 31 in the Braves non-league triumph on Monday.
The Braves now sport a 8-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Kittatinny Regional for a Northwest Jersey - Freedom game on Wednesday, January 25. Newton will face a Cougars team coming off a 51-36 non-league loss to Butler (Butler, NJ). The Cougars record now stands at 6-10.
With the defeat, Boonton moves to 0-14 on the year. The Bombers host Morristown-Beard (Morristown, NJ) to face the Crimson in a Northwest Jersey - Liberty game on Wednesday, January 25. The Crimson enter the game with a record of 11-1. Morristown-Beard lost 69-49 in their recent non-league game against Hopatcong (Hopatcong, NJ)
