January 7, 2010: Merryville, LA 70653 In Thursday's non-league outing, the Merryville Panthers (Merryville, LA) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Plainview Hornets (Glenmora, LA), by a count of 85-62.
The Panthers (15-1) will now prepare for their outing against Northwood (Lena, LA). The Gators go into the non-league outing with a 7-4 record. In their last outing, Northwood smashed Avoyelles Charter (Mansura, LA), 40-38, in a non-league outing.
The Hornets now hold a 13-13 record. They take the field next when they travel to St. Mary for a non-league outing on Saturday, January 9. Plainview will encounter a Tigers squad coming off a 63-35 non-league win over DeQuincy (DeQuincy, LA). The Tigers record now stands at 5-10.
