The Barrow Whalers (Utqiagvik, AK) football nudged the visiting Kenai Central Kardinals (Kenai, AK), 8-6 in Saturday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Whalers face the Houston Hawks (Big Lake, AK) in a Mid Alaska bout, on Saturday, August 26. Barrow will attempt to move on its 1-1 season record. The Hawks enter the bout with a 2-0 record after their 50-6 league win over Kodiak (Kodiak, AK).

The Kardinals (1-1) will now prepare for their bout against Redington (Wasilla, AK). The Huskies enter the non-league bout with a 0-3 record. In their last bout, Redington was nudged by Homer (Homer, AK), 66-16, in a league bout.
