Utah High School Basketball - Mountain View falls to Lehi
January 28, 2011: Lehi, UT 84043 The Lehi Pioneers basketball team scored 57 points and held the visiting Mountain View Bruins to 40 in the Pioneers league triumph on Friday.
The Pioneers now sport a 11-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Provo for a contest on Tuesday, February 1.
The Bruins (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Timpview (Provo, UT). The Thunderbirds enter the non-league contest with a 1-0 record.
First Quarter
Brad McGregor started the Pioneers off strong with 2 three point baskets and 3 other players scored to give Lehi a 14 to 7 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Second Quarter
Mountain came back and outscored Lehi by 3 to cut the Lehi lead to just 4 to end the first half. The score is Lehi 26 and Mountain View 22.
Third Quarter
Lehi scored 18 points and held Mountain View to just 7 in the third quarter. Tanner Simmons lead the pioneers with 6 points in the period and the score at the end of three is Lehi 44 and Mountain View 29.
Fourth Quarter
Lehi held on to post a 17 point win. The story of the game was turnovers as Mountain View had 16 to just 6 for Lehi. Field goals made were 24 for Lehi and 17 for Mountain View.
