In Friday's non-league contest, the Elgin Comets (Marion, OH) softball team the host River Valley Vikings (Caledonia, OH), by a margin of 8-6.

With the triumph, Elgin moves its record to 8-4 on the year. The Comets host Hardin Northern (Dola, OH) to play the Polar Bears in a Northwest Central contest on Monday, April 30.
