Illinois High School Basketball - East prevails Marmion Academy
February 17, 2010: Aurora, IL 60504 East Tomcats (Aurora, IL) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Marmion Academy Cadets (Aurora, IL), 53-39 in a non-league bout.
With the win, East upgrades its record to 15-7 on the season. The Tomcats host East (St. Charles, IL) to play the Fighting Saints in a Upstate Eight bout on Friday, February 19. The Fighting Saints go into the bout with a record of 9-13. East lost 57-45 in their recent non-league bout against Lake Zurich (Lake Zurich, IL)
Next up, the Cadets play the St. Francis Spartans (Wheaton, IL) in a Suburban Christian - Blue bout, on Saturday, February 20. Marmion Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 16-8 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 9-12 record after their 78-29 league win over Montini (Lombard, IL).
