The Vela Sabercats football squad scored 35 points and restricted the visiting Veterans Memorial Chargers to 10 in the Sabercats non-league victory on Friday.

The Sabercats now possess a 2-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Edinburg North for a 6A Region IV District 31 battle on Friday, September 23. Vela will face a Cougars squad coming off a 38-14 non-league loss to Harlingen South (Harlingen, TX). The Cougars record now stands at 0-3.

Coming up next, the Chargers face the Pace Vikings (Brownsville, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 32 battle, on Friday, September 23. Veterans Memorial will attempt to advance on its 2-1 season record.
