Massachusetts High School Baseball - Rockland tipped by East Bridgewater
May 26, 2011: Rockland, MA 02370 In Thursday's league game, the visiting East Bridgewater Vikings baseball team scored a tight 5-3 victory over the Rockland Bulldogs.
The Vikings (10-6) will now prepare for their game against Hull (Hull, MA). The Pirates go into the South Shore game with a 3-17 record. In their last game, Hull by Abington (Abington, MA), 5-4, in a league game.
The Bulldogs (8-12) will now prepare for their game against Norwell (Norwell, MA). The Clippers go into the South Shore game with a 16-4 record. In their last game, Norwell tipped Carver (Carver, MA), 2-1, in a league game.
Game Summary
Bill Britton went the distance in EB's third game in three days. He was in controll the entire way, but he did have some spectacular defensive plays turned in by shortstop Pat Dempsey and left fielderAndrew Benson. EB went to 10-6 overall and 9-5 in the South Shore League. This was their 5th winning effort in a row including the rain interrupted Mashpee game where they were ahead 6-1 .(To be played over Sunday at 2:00 at Strong's in EB.)
