March 14, 2012: Montebello, CA 90640 The Schurr Spartans softball team (Montebello, CA), was routed 9-2 in Wednesday's non-league test with the visiting Montclair Cavaliers (Montclair, CA)
Coming up next, the Cavaliers clash with the La Serna Lancers (Whittier, CA) in a non-league test, on Friday, March 16. Montclair will attempt to improve on its 7-2 season record. The Lancers come into the test with a 3-2 record after their 9-8 non-league win over Bonita (La Verne, CA).
The Spartans (4-3) will now prepare for their bout against Bonita (La Verne, CA). The Bearcats go into the non-league bout with a 3-4 record. In their last bout, Bonita was routed by La Serna (Whittier, CA), 9-8, in a non-league bout.
Game Summary
Montclair had a couple of errors to start the game and allowed Schurr 2 runs but then Freshman pitcher Brittany Violette shut down Schurr. The Lady Cavs had a big 4th inning with a 2 rbi double by Violette and an rbi triple by Reanna Hernandez to help score the runs. Haven Villamarin also had a solo shot home run in the 3rd inning and a 2 rbi single in the forth. Montclair improves to 7-2 for the season and continues in the championship bracket on Friday.
