January 14, 2017: Taos, NM 87571 In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Shiprock Chieftains basketball team scored a tight 57-51 triumph over the Taos Tigers.
In their next game, the Chieftains meet the Durango Demons (Durango, CO) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, January 17. Shiprock will attempt to move on its 6-10 season record. The Demons enter the match with a 9-1 record after their 55-38 non-league win over Bayfield (Bayfield, CO).
With the defeat, Taos moves to 8-9 on the year. The Tigers travel to Pojoaque Valley (Pojoaque, NM) to meet the Elks/Elkettes in a 4A District 2 match on Tuesday, January 17. The Elks/Elkettes enter the match with a record of 10-6. Pojoaque Valley won 66-50 in their recent non-league match against Thoreau (Thoreau, NM)
