Marquette Crusaders (Ottawa, IL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Putnam County Panthers (Granville, IL), 62-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, Marquette upgrades its record to 15-10 on the campaign. The Crusaders travel to Roanoke-Benson (Roanoke, IL) to play the Rockets in a Tri-County bout on Friday, February 16. The Rockets come into the bout with a record of 14-10. Roanoke-Benson lost 49-46 in their recent non-league bout against Flanagan-Cornell (Flanagan, IL)

Next up, the Panthers play the Princeton Tigers (Princeton, IL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 19. Putnam County will attempt to upgrade on its 8-19 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 13-12 record after their 39-34 league win over St. Bede (Peru, IL).
