Coaches Summary

Game Summary

In this semi-final of the Nutcracker Classic, the Matadores of La Mirada brought a very physical brand of soccer to the smaller Tartans. With 10 minutes left in the half, La Mirada struck first after the Tartans were called for a foul near the Matadore sideline. A Matadore defender placed a beautiful shot in the upper right of the Tartan net. As the second half opened, the Tartans showed they would no longer be pushed around. After a foul just outside of the box, Ally Wilson quickly took the direct kick before the defense and keeper could get set. The blast found the upper left of the goal evening the score at 1-1. Tiffany Dimaculangan soon followed, carrying the ball for 30 yards and alluding several Matadores in the process, and finishing with a scorcher in the lower left. The Tartans then struck on a corner kick from Ally Wilson, Nattali Molina finishing with a beautiful header. Amie Jepsen capped the scoring, intercepting a Matadore pass and chipping it past the keeper.
