Game Summary
Arcadia upset two-time defending state champion Notre Dame in penalty kicks and will face Chaparral for the State Championship. The Saints had better chances in the 1st half and took a 1-0 lead on Amelie Young's fine goal midway through the frame. However, Arcadia fought back in the 2nd half and equalized in the 60th minute, courtesy of junior striker Kalena Teufel's 28th goal of the season, assisted by senior co-captain Kennedy Williams.
The game was 1-1 in regulation and still tied after two 10-minute overtime periods.
Arcadia won the coin toss and kicked 1st, which paid immediate dividends when senior co-captain Kate Murphy made her shot, and Arcadia goalie Sarandon Raboin stopped NDP's 1st shooter. Kennedy Williams scored for Arcadia in the 2nd round, and Sarandon again saved an NDP kick. When Molly Vesling converted, Arcadia held a 3-0 lead. NDP midfielder Julia Koharko scored to cut Arcadia's lead to 3-1, but Titans junior Clare Murphy netted in the game winner.
