September 16, 2016: Lexa, AR 72355 The Barton Bears football squad scored 47 points and restricted the visiting Hazen Hornets to 8 in the Bears non-league victory on Friday.
The Bears now possess a 2-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mayflower for a 3A Region 2 battle on Friday, September 23. Barton will face a Eagles squad coming off a 48-24 non-league win over Bigelow (Bigelow, AR). The Eagles record now stands at 2-1.
Coming up next, the Hornets face the McCrory Jaguars (McCrory, AR) in a 2A Region 6 battle, on Friday, September 23. Hazen will attempt to advance on its 0-3 season record. The Jaguars enter the battle with a 1-2 record after their 58-6 league win over Marvell (Marvell, AR).
