In Friday's league game, the Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC) football team knocked off the host Parkwood Rebels (Monroe, NC), by a final score of 28-14.

The Pirates (6-2) will now prepare for their game against Weddington (Matthews, NC). The Warriors come into the 4A/3A Southern Carolina game with a 4-4 record. In their last game, Weddington was dropped by Anson (Wadesboro, NC), 34-29, in a league game.

The Rebels now hold a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Sun Valley for a 4A/3A Southern Carolina game on Friday, October 23. Parkwood will battle a Spartans team coming off a 44-41 league loss to Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 5-3.
