Buna Cougars (Buna, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Kountze Lions (Kountze, TX), 36-29 in a league bout.

With the win, Buna upgrades its record to 4-6 on the season. The Cougars travel to Hardin (Hardin, TX) to clash with the Hornets in a 3A Region III District 23 bout on Friday, January 15. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 7-2. Hardin won 77-33 in their recent league bout against Deweyville (Deweyville, TX)

Next up, the Lions clash with the Kirbyville Wildcats (Kirbyville, TX) in a 3A Region III District 23 bout, on Friday, January 15. Kountze will attempt to upgrade on its 1-7 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 0-8 record after their 34-32 league loss to Deweyville (Deweyville, TX).
