September 30, 2016: Coeburn, VA 24230 Burton Black Raiders (Norton, VA) fans left the game content Friday as they saw their football team rout the host Eastside [Coeburn/St. Paul] Spartans (Coeburn, VA), 42-6 in a league test.
With the triumph, Burton improves its record to 3-3 on the campaign. The Black Raiders travel to Castlewood (Castlewood, VA) to confront the Blue Devils in a Cumberland test on Friday, October 7. The Blue Devils come into the test with a record of 4-2. Castlewood won 59-0 in their recent non-league test against Northwood (Saltville, VA)
With the loss, Eastside [Coeburn/St. Paul] drops to 1-5 on the campaign. The Spartans host Rye Cove (Clinchport, VA) to confront the Eagles in a Cumberland test on Friday, October 7. The Eagles come into the test with a record of 0-6. Rye Cove lost 54-12 in their recent non-league test against Harlan (Harlan, KY)
