In Friday's non-league match, the host Linden Patriots football squad scored a close 20-16 victory over the Selma Saints.

In their next game, the Patriots clash with the Holy Spirit Catholic Saints (Tuscaloosa, AL) in a 1A Region 3 match, on Thursday, October 4. Linden will attempt to move on its 5-0 season record. The Saints enter the match with a 5-1 record after their 31-0 non-league win over Fayetteville (Sylacauga, AL).
