California High School Softball - Rodriguez felled by Vacaville
April 19, 2016: Vacaville, CA 95688 In Tuesday's league outing, the host Vacaville Bulldogs softball team scored a nice 12-0 win over the Rodriguez Mustangs.
Coming up next, the Bulldogs encounter the Wood Wildcats (Vacaville, CA) in a Monticello Empire League outing, on Thursday, April 21. Vacaville will attempt to improve on its 10-5 season record. The Wildcats enter the outing with a 10-6 record after their 8-0 league loss to Vintage (Napa, CA).
The Mustangs (5-13) will now prepare for their outing against Armijo (Fairfield, CA). The Indians enter the Monticello Empire League outing with a 5-11 record. In their last outing, Armijo was routed by Napa (Napa, CA), 8-5, in a league outing.
Game Summary
With six runs in the first three innings, the Vacaville Bulldogs Varsity left no doubt about the eventual outcome. An RBI single by Morgan Conner, an RBI double by Madison Rojas, a two-run triple by Brooke Mitchell, and an RBI single by Holly Chandler in the first inning and an RBI single by Conner during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Vacaville Bulldogs Varsity. Mitchell racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Vacaville Bulldogs Varsity.
Rodriguez couldn't get anything going as long as Katie Kibby was on the rubber. Rodriguez managed just one hit off of the the Vacaville Bulldogs Varsity's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out six during her five innings of work. The Vacaville Bulldogs Varsity piled on six more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Destiny Quiles kicked things off with a double, bringing home Conner and Rojas.
