California High School Baseball - Temescal Canyon can't hold off Paloma Valley
March 30, 2012: Lake Elsinore, CA 92532 The Paloma Valley Wildcats baseball team scored 2 runs and limited the host Temescal Canyon Titans to 1 in the Wildcats league victory on Friday.
The Wildcats (6-3) will now prepare for their match against Chaparral (Temecula, CA). The Pumas go into the non-league match with a 3-7 record. In their last match, Chaparral was edged by Murrieta Valley (Murrieta, CA), 11-4, in a league match.
The Titans (6-4) will now prepare for their match against Norco (Norco, CA). The Cougars go into the non-league match with a 5-4 record. In their last match, Norco edged Centennial (Corona, CA), 14-2, in a league match.

Gardea's effort not enough to stop slide as Titans fall to Paloma Valley 2-1
Alec Gardea allowed just two runs and three hits, but the Titans couldn't get the offense going in a 2-1 defeat to Paloma Valley.
the Titans scored their lone run in the 5th on a single by Eddie Ruiz and a RBI double by Ty Conner. Paloma Valley staved off the Titan rally in the seventh as Conner hit a single and an error on Smith's ball put runners on second and third with two away. Zack diaz' line drive was snagged by the Paloma 1B and ended the contest. Paloma starter Gallegos in control on the mound. The Titans managed just three hits off of Gallegos, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out one during his six innings of work.
Gardea was strong on the mound, throwing strikes on 52 of his 78 pitches. Gardea collected five strike outs and walked one for the Titans.
