Game Summary
The Panthers visited the Lakeland Christian Vikings on a cold December night. Both teams played very well but the Panthers really controlled the game with some really nice passing on the artificial turf. In the 10th minute, Fredi Leon was able to head the ball forward to Corey Gierok running to the goal. Corey was able to place the ball past the goalie for the first goal of the game. The Panthers continued dominating with their fine passing but were unable to score again so the half ended 1-0. The Vikings came out fired up in the second half and were able to score in the 9th minute. The scored again in the 26th minute to take a 2-1 lead. It looked like the Panthers might suffer their first defeat of the season, but in stoppage time, Damaso Pineda took a free kick outside the box. He put the kick on goal high enough that the keeper was able to get a finger on it but unable to keep the ball from going into the net for a dramatic ending to a very good game.
