North Carolina High School Softball - Alexander Central bounces Statesville
March 20, 2014: Statesville, NC 28677 Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Statesville Greyhounds (Statesville, NC), 24-0 in a league challenge.
The Cougars now own a 9-0 record. They take the field next when they host East Wilkes for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 22. Alexander Central will battle a Cardinals squad coming off a 10-0 league win over Alleghany (Sparta, NC). The Cardinals record now stands at 3-0.
With the loss, Statesville falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Greyhounds travel to North Iredell (Olin, NC) to battle the Raiders in a 3A/4A North Piedmont challenge on Tuesday, March 25. The Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 3-2. North Iredell lost 2-1 in their recent league challenge against South Iredell (Statesville, NC)
