South Dakota High School Basketball - Northwestern Area holds off Ipswich

Northwestern Area Wildcats (Mellette, SD) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Ipswich Tigers (Ipswich, SD), 61-56 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Northwestern Area upgrades its record to 6-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Miller (Miller, SD) to play the Rustlers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 17. The Rustlers come into the bout with a record of 2-4. Miller lost 51-44 in their recent non-league bout against Sully Buttes (Onida, SD)

Next up, the Tigers play the Britton-Hecla Braves (Britton, SD) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 19. Ipswich will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Braves come into the bout with a 2-5 record after their 42-39 non-league loss to Roncalli (Aberdeen, SD).
