The East Tomcats (Aurora, IL) basketball nipped the visiting Metea Valley Mustangs (Aurora, IL), 44-39 in Tuesday's league test.

The Tomcats (5-11) will now prepare for their test against Lake Park (Roselle, IL). The Lancers go into the Upstate Eight test with a 7-7 record. In their last test, Lake Park was tipped by Neuqua Valley (Naperville, IL), 54-47, in a league test.

The Mustangs now own a 8-10 record. They take the field next when they host Bartlett for a Upstate Eight test on Friday, January 13. Metea Valley will clash with a Hawks squad coming off a 58-45 non-league win over Palatine (Palatine, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 20-0.
