North Carolina High School Basketball - Burns can't hold off Independence

The Independence Patriots basketball team scored 62 points and held the host Burns Bulldogs to 58 in the Patriots non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Patriots now sport a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Huss for a non-league contest on Wednesday, December 30. Independence will battle a Huskies team coming off a 80-65 non-league win over Forestview (Gastonia, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 3-8.

The Bulldogs (4-8) will now prepare for their contest against Crest (Shelby, NC). The Chargers enter the South Mountain 2A/3A contest with a 5-9 record. In their last contest, Crest was nudged by Shelby (Shelby, NC), 69-54, in a non-league contest.
