McDowell Titans (Marion, NC) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Asheville Cougars (Asheville, NC), 65-42 in a league bout.

With the win, McDowell upgrades its record to 7-12 on the season. The Titans host North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC) to play the Black Hawks in a Mountain 3A/4A bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Black Hawks go into the bout with a record of 6-10. North Buncombe won 60-27 in their recent league bout against Enka (Enka, NC)

Next up, the Cougars play the A.C. Reynolds Rockets (Asheville, NC) in a Mountain 3A/4A bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Asheville will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record. The Rockets go into the bout with a 4-14 record after their 43-32 league loss to Erwin (Asheville, NC).
